Vertical Blinds

Vertical blinds are a versatile, cost effective way to transform your windows or conservatory. With a wide array of fabric options vertical blinds offer a contemporary yet practical shading solution. Vertical blinds are a great way to control light flow into a room and create a great ambiance. Verticals can be made to draw back from the middle like a pair of curtains, or to stack left or right, with cord operation from either side.

Performance Vertical blinds

Vertical blind fabrics are available in flame retardant, washable and blackout options, which are ideal for Schools and Colleges where safety, as well as performance is a necessity. Fabrics are also available with reflective backing for reducing the heat of the sun in the summer, and providing insulation in the winter.

Head rail colours

The head rails for vertical blinds are available in brown or white to suit your individual application.

Slat width size

Vertical blinds are available in different slat widths with 89mm(3.5”) the most popular. A larger 127mm slat (5”) size is also readily available.

Sloped, shaped, and Arched, Vertical blinds

With lean-to conservatories a sloping head rail is needed to follow the roofline along the sides of the building but the slats still need to run parallel to the windowsill or floor. As a conservatory blind specialist Alan Ward can measure, supply, and fit this type of blind.

If you have a bow shaped bay window, we can supply a custom made curved head rail to allow the slats to follow the profile of your window perfectly.

Arched windows can take a Vertical blind, as a tilt only blind.

Cleaning

Vertical blinds need virtually no cleaning, due to the slats hanging vertically. Most Vertical blind fabrics can be cleaned with a damp cloth. Care should be taken not to rub the fabric too hard thus making smudge marks, which will be difficult to remove.

Health and Safety

Care must be taken with hanging cords regarding young children, and vulnerable persons, due to the danger of strangulation. Cord tidies, or the shortening of cords where possible is recommended. A health and safety warning tag is enclosed with each blind, for your instruction, and appropriate fixings to avoid danger of harm.

We have a large range of vertical blinds available for completion within 7 days.
